The Royal Navy Royal Marines Surf Association run several beginner/improver weekends each year. The weekends are often run on Gwithian beach in Cornwall, although this venue may change if the conditions are deemed unsuitable.
The aim of the weekend is:

To promote and introduce personnel to the exciting sport of surfing
-
To further improve skills of personnel who have previously spent some time in the water
-
To provide a programme that enables Service personnel and their dependants valuable time for respite.
The weekend includes, within its price;
-
6 hours of surf instruction from fully qualified coaches and lifeguards (2 sessions on the Saturday and 1 on the Sunday)

-
